Walk In Swindon…
Google Maps Link (If you click on the end point it also gives you some facts and figures about speed and elevation)
Using google’s ‘tracks’ app on my new phone, if you turn on GPS and open the tracks app you can either have it on screen as a cool map/compass thingy or let it sit in the background, either way it will plot out the route you have taken, in my case a 6 mile walk around Swindon. And I took some pictures with it too.
Some of the points it recorded are bit off but I did have the phone in my jacket pocket a lot of the time, although I don’t know what the accuracy of the GPS in the phone is suppose to be anyway? It does show where I either went the wrong way or just got distracted by something though.
Apparently I reached a max speed of 9.6 miles per hour… I don’t think so though, I think it that must just be from where it missed a point/reading and then snapped back to where I actually was at the time it took the next point.
The average speed looks about right though.
Still havent figgured out how to do automatic geotagging of pictures I took.
